This Writer's Voice

Through the written word I have been 20,000 leagues under the sea and around the world in 80 days. Through Steinbeck's pen I have been across America on highways and byways. Through Vonnegut's noisy old-fashioned typewriter I have been to the moons of Saturn and the industrial complex's of Ilium, NY.

I chose to make writing my profession and let it take me where it may. It is my passion and it is what I love to do. I am a professional freelance writer which means that I get to use the full power of the written word to express fully and concisely what others wish. I make my living turning thoughts and concepts into words and sentences, and I enjoy every second of it; I enjoy every syllable of it.

Though I am an artist I am also a professional. Writing is my passion but also my living. From me you can expect only the highest level of professionalism as well as the highest quality end product and the best working experience. I can provide for all of your writing needs from advertising copy to business plans. My multiplicity of skills is only surpassed by my willingness and eagerness to improve the quality and breadth of my writing skills.

Please browse my website and please contact me for any more information. I want to hear from you. I want you to ask questions about my services and my writing. I am always looking to establish new partnerships with great people and businesses.

Words - so innocent and powerless as they are, as standing in a dictionary, how potent for good and evil they become in the hands of one who knows how to combine them.  ~Nathaniel Hawthorne

A perfectly healthy sentence, it is true, is extremely rare.  For the most part we miss the hue and fragrance of the thought; as if we could be satisfied with the dews of the morning or evening without their colors, or the heavens without their azure.  ~Henry David Thoreau

A Little About Myself

I guess in a way you could say that I started my professional life when I was in pre-school. I then graduated to elementary school. Next up was middle school. I spent three years in middle school starting from 6th grade and moving to 7th and finally to 8th. High school was next for me. After high school came college and real responsibility; and jury duty. During high school I had a few jobs here and there that led nowhere and were nothing to me. The summer I graduate from that fine institution I became a Newport Beach Lifeguard. For some years now I have been a Newport Beach Lifeguard--at least from June to September when the sun is shining and school is out. From life guarding I have established a two tone view of seasonal progression where there is only summer and winter. Each winter I found myself discovering a new path to follow until finally I realized that it was my desire to create and my love of literature that I wanted to pursue for good. Along the way I have built million dollar houses, made coffee for the overly wealthy, and sold surfboards to woeful surfers who couldn’t help but spend their paychecks on brand new boards. But as I said, I believe that I have discovered the path I want to pursue, at least, for a little while. So now I am a freelance writer and I write daily as I try to make a living doing exactly what it is that I enjoy the most at this point.

My writing career started without me even knowing it. Before I had an inkling of an idea that I would want to become a writer I started writing for a family friend’s blog, before blog’s were even cool, and basically before I even knew what a blog was. I would write on subjects that were assigned to me and the articles would be published. I wrote these articles for a year or so before realizing that what I was doing was actually marketing. Upon realizing that I was actually generating business I quickly began to look for any position where I could apply my experience as a marketing oriented writer and after a struggle to make my way I landed a position as an assistant copywriter for an established copywriting service. Here I wrote articles and submitted them and they were sent back to me covered in notes and I was constantly writing and re-writing them as my ability to write marketing material was constantly honed. After some years put in writing and re-writing material over and over I decided that it was time for me to try to stand on my own two feet. Now I am a professional freelance writer and I am making it; I am doing exactly what I want to do.
